2012-2-03| Mongolia is the 100th country to use the PTV Vision software suite

The large number of over 2,000 customers worldwide who use our solutions relating to transport planning and traffic engineering issues proves that the PTV Vision software products have established themselves as the standard among traffic experts.

2011-12-21| Competition: Create the VISUM add-ins of the future

VISUM is a transportation planning software and due to its open system architecture can be expanded user-defined. Numerous add-ins allow to perfectly adapt the software to individual applications.

2011-5-25| VISUM-team wins map contest

DVRPC won first place in the map contest at the GIS-T symposium, with a map titled "Accessibility for Alternative Locations Derived from Google Transit Feeds". The map shows four transit isochrones that were created in VISUM, then combined and post-processed in Adobe Illustrator. The isochrones are based on DVRPC’s new regional travel forecasting model “TIM 2.0”.

MAT.CrossCheck is a test tool for the quality analysis of traffic light control. It extends the VISSIM functionality towards automatic generation, implementation and statistical evaluation of simulation runs, thus enabling a systematic, comprehensive and convenient quality analysis of traffic light control already in the planning phase.

2011-4-20| Windows 2000 and VISUM

In mid-April 2011 Microsoft released a security patch for Windows which conflicts with many existing software packages. If users apply the patch, VISUM will no longer run under Windows 2000. Our own development computers are affected in the same way. We will do our best to ensure that VISUM 11.5 will continue to run under Windows 2000.

One of the major usability improvements introduced with VISUM 11.5 is the new Matrix Editor. The matrices of the model are now always ready to hand through the matrix explorer tab in the network overview window, which serves as the entry point for matrix management and analysis operations.

2011-01-26| A qualitative quantum leap for transportation models

Our recent cooperation with TomTom sets a new level of quality standard in transportation modelling: PTV will be using TomTom's unique historical travel data to provide detailed travel time information for the entire road network. This means that transportation modellers can now easily access data on traffic speed and thus on traffic quality for a specific route and day using PTV software.
