Traffic Report Management
- Importing reports
PTV imports traffic reports from different providers and converts their individual formats into a uniform data format. Standard formats, such as Alert C (TMC) are decoded and the content is interpreted in terms of its impact on traffic. The converted reports are verified, corrected if required and unified. - Generating reports
During traffic data analysis (detector data or FCD) established methods are applied (-> PTV TrafficPlatform) to deduce traffic situations and generate traffic reports. - Merging reports
Traffic reports deduced from traffic situations are merged with reports that have been imported. Thereby, each report is weighted in terms of reliability and duration. Result: All reports are of high quality, especially concerning up-to-date traffic alerts and "all clear" information. - Preparing traffic reports
The reports are versioned for customers and translated into the most common languages. If we use standards for additional coding, this opens up further fields of application, e.g. with Alert C in navigation devices. For dynamic route planning, the reports are additionally interpreted in terms of their impact on traffic as well as on individual route sections and are converted into speed time series.
