Several convenience methods are available for mapping, routing, geocoding and custom-specified POI administration:

- CityMap Service
The CityMap Service allows users to request maps for addresses or coordinates which may be enriched with additional content such as POI, weather or traffic information. After having selected a map, the user may zoom in and out, move around or adjust a map’s level of detail. Thanks to AJAX technology the interaction with the map is seamless and faster compared to static maps.
- POISearch Service
POISearch Service enables the user to search for POI data, such as car parks, hotels or traffic information. Using the proximity search option users can search for POIs within a radius from a centre point (address or coordinate) specified either by linear distance, driving distance or even driving time.
- Route Service
Route Service allows users to calculate routes for start and destination addresses (or coordinates) including stop-off points. The calculation can be based on the shortest, most economic or fastest route. Different profiles such as car, pedestrian or bike can be used for the route calculation. Additionally, up-to-date traffic information as well as traffic patterns (e.g. areas where traffic incidents occur on a regular basis) can be taken into account to avoid traffic jams or road work areas. The calculated route can be presented in the form of a list of directions and visualized on a zoomable and scalable map (there are overview or detailed maps for every waypoint available too). Furthermore, routes may be enriched with additional information such as POIs along the route, weather and traffic information.
- TrafficInformation Service
The TrafficInformation Service allows the user to request lists and maps with up-to-date traffic information for areas (countries, regions or town) or for roads (e.g. highway A5). Traffic messages are treated as POIs, either line-based or point-based. This allows several convenience methods for easy access to traffic messages.
- POIAdministration Service
POIAdministration Service allows customer-specific POI layers to be stored and configured. After uploading the new POI data by a request or via a csv-file the POI data will be geocoded and updated automatically. As the service is also provided via web front-end the data can be displayed on a map where the user may drag and drop the POI icon onto the desired location. The new position may automatically be geocoded and restored. Further information about POI data can also be added and stored to the PTV database.
