The aim of this research project is to identify constructions which are threatened by nature and people and to develop constructional, operational and organisational protection measures accordingly. The selected research approach is based on the standard threat scenarios for individual constructions which are developed using extensive threat analyses.

PTV AG has developed procedures and methods for evaluating the effectiveness of individual measures. In addition to risk-based and socio-economic evaluation procedures a behaviour and perception-based flight and evacuation model has been developed based on the existing and pedestrian simulation from the simulation software VISSIM.

The final results are to be used in future national guidelines and regulations.
