AIMS – Advanced Impacts evaluation Methodology for innovative freight transport Solutions 

In different fields of freight transport a variety of research projects have been realised in the Framework programmes FP 5 and FP 6. The results of these projects are widespread concerning aspects like enlargement of scientific knowledge, technological feasibility, commercialisation and level of innovation. In depth analysis and benchmarks of the project results have strong importance regarding future chances of commercialisation. AIMS has the objective to analyse finished FP 5 and FP 6 projects using an innovative approach combining sys-temic and socio-economic approaches. Further development of an evaluation methodology will be conducted with the following objectives:

• Evaluation and benchmarking of research projects with regard to different modes of transport,
• improving commercial success rates of future research projects,
• drafting recommendations for the definition of new transport research policy objectives.
