Modern concepts for production and distribution logistics help avoid ad-hoc incidents. They aim at balancing the total production and procurement volume by offering scheduled services with regular headways. Therefore, we focus on the development of multimodal headway-based freight traffic schedules, a system considering time and capacity buffer and a learning system for incident management.
