Stettiner Haff – Mobility Agency Town Country Bike

In the project region consisting of the districts Ostvorpommern and Uecker-Randow, which is part of the project "Demographic change - the future of services in rural regions", the bicycle mobility potential for different population groups (senior citizens, families, young people, etc.) is to be activated and residents and tourists are to be motivated to use bicycles. The project aims at achieving the following individual goals:

• Promotion of  the use of bicycles and bicycle infrastructure as a low-cost form of self-organised mobility for everybody, even where facilities are closing, routes to central facilities are getting longer and where public transport facilities are no longer economical.
• Creation of networks in the region to individually develop alternative mobility services by supporting commitment in civil society, self-organisation processes, etc.
• Establishment of a mobility agency to promote bicycle mobility, which serves as organisational, contact and information centre.

PTV's main task is to develop a traffic planning concept for bicycles together with the regional groups. In addition to developing a project concept for bicycle mobility for the entire project region, individual pilot projects are to be developed up to the stage of implementation and included in the mobility agency.
