Market and mobility studies

It is essential to have precise information on individual travel demand, customer satisfaction and market acceptance of the new services in order to provide the transportation market with an economic and demand-based service planning.

We obtain empirical data through household, passenger and company surveys. For each project a tailored interview approach is developed which includes standardised elements as well as particular enquiries. The range is from travel diaries regarding mobility patterns, image analyses to complex stated preferences and conjoint analysis approaches for the assessment of future transportation markets or products (Stated Preferences and Conjoint Analysis).

PTV's market and mobility studies are based on the current state of scientific research regarding sampling, extrapolation and estimation of choice models. Therefore, we have established worldwide co-operations with experts in the field of traffic planning and market research. Additionally, national and international research projects ensure high-quality studies.

Traffic development schemes

PTV AG works on both urban and regional traffic master plans. All means of transportation are considered in the integrated planning process. Temporal and spatial distribution of travel demand is determined, analysed and forecasted for future development. The effects of regional and transport planning variants can be estimated as they are modelled in a measure-sensitive transport model. For evaluation not only economic and operational aspects, but also environmental impacts (pollutants, noise) are taken into account.

Data services for PTV Vision

For a successful use of the planning tools VISEVA or VISEM together with VISUM, it is important to create a specific database for the planning area. We help you to create an optimal database.

Environmental impact analyses

We develop scenarios regarding future traffic developments and analyse environmental impacts. Emission analyses in private transport are based on the latest consumption and emission factors for 26 passenger car models and about 100 HGV models.
