PTV at LogiMAT: New updated releases of all logistics software products

Karlsruhe, Germany, 9th February 2010. March is truly an exciting month. Spring is in the air and so are the new versions of PTV’s entire range of logistics software products showcased at this year's LogiMAT in Stuttgart in early March. The presentation will include map&guide 2010, PTV Intertour 6.0 and the SDK software developer kit with new servers.

Faster, more precise and efficient: trip planning 6.0
PTV Intertour assists dispatchers in managing their transports cost-efficiently. Version 6.0 is based on a new technology which allows users to calculate the distance matrix much faster, and it improves accuracy of the routing procedure. This also means that there is more computing time left for rescheduling and optimising the transport runs, which in turn leads to improved results and lower costs.

The new version also enables users to calculate CO2 emissions for each transport run. With the Road Editor users can open and close road segments to trucks. Regional routing peculiarities, such as long-term roadworks, can be immediately visualised, which leads to more realistic planning results.

These new functions and the possibility to measure and evenly balance vehicle utilisation provides users with a variety of options designed to tap their individual saving potential and to maximise the performance of their vehicle fleet and transport operations.

One-of-a-kind trip planning module
The SOAP/XML-based SDK 1.10 for PTV xServers enables software developers to create Web applications more easily. Geographical and logistical functions can be effortlessly integrated into existing architectures, such as ERP or CRM systems. Usually, the investment pays off quickly. Thanks to their modular structure they are highly scalable and can be upgraded easily.

The PTV xTour Server is a completely new and one-of-a kind component for trip and route planning. It allocates transport orders to vehicles and creates cost-efficient transport runs. Workload Balancing is another unique feature: it helps planners to evenly balance driver workload and vehicle utilisation.

New COM developer component
With the PTV MapServer users can easily integrate digital maps, route calculation or other geo-functionalities into their desktop applications. It provides developers with a complete range of functions available to map&guide users and is therefore the most comprehensive software development kit for geographical and logistical applications currently available in the market. The Tour Optimizer is a new component which helps users optimise the sequence of every stop within a trip.
