Saving costs with new fuel navigator

A route planner which optimises fuel stops is a totally new innovation in
the road transport business. Transport operators can now save a lot of time
and cost since the new tool not only displays the current fuel prices,
keeps track of fuel consumption levels and calculates toll charges, but
also suggests driving times and rest periods. The OMV Fuel Navigator
developed by PTV AG for the Austrian energy group covers the entire
European continent and is available in 16 languages.

map&guide truck navigation with new features

Bridges too narrow or tunnels too low for trucks? These problems are
stressful for truck drivers and costly to businesses. This is where
map&guide software specifically designed for truck navigation comes to the
rescue. To make it even safer, PTV's transportation experts have again
implemented numerous fresh ideas. The new map&guide versions are now
available and provide users with a rich set of new functions.

Significant PTV Vision updates presented at ITS World Congress

PTV's transport software specialists have made significant updates of two
products: VISSIM, which looks at traffic flow in micro-simulation
situations, and VISUM, which handles the same task in the macro field -
across an entire city, for example. A new algorithm called LUCE in VISUM
and the signal time editor in VISSIM are just a few of the many highlights
presented at this year's ITS World Congress in Stockholm. To find out more

eLearning for VISSIM simulation software

PTV America has introduced eLearning for VISSIM. This self-paced online
training course allows VISSIM users to master the basics of VISSIM in 14
guided modules. Student feedback shows progress, scores, and student

ITE Young Consultant's Award presented to Karen Giese, PTV America

Each year the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) sponsors an
awards program to honour outstanding achievement in transportation
engineering and distinguished service.. The awards bestow international
recognition upon the recipients and increase the public's awareness of the
role and responsibilities of the transportation engineer. Karen L. Giese,
PTV America Inc., received the Young Consultant's Award at the ITE 2009
Annual Meeting and Exhibit held August 9-12 in San Antonio, TX, USA, in
recognition of her paper entitled "Downtown Vancouver Transportation and
Emergency Management System" (DVTEMS).

on two additional ITE 2009 Awards: the Transportation Education Council
Best Innovation in Education Award and the Daniel B. Fambro Student Paper
