PTV combines traffic planning and environmental protection
To avoid traffic-related pollution, it is important to know the source and amount of pollutants emitted. The new link between the handbook of emission factors (HBEFA) and the transportation planning software VISUM allows calculation of all relevant pollutants and therefore enables traffic planners to address environmental issues by means of traffic planning tools. Traffic planning and environmental planning are thus moving even closer together.
Three EU-projects focus on cooperative mobility
How can cooperative systems help us improve traffic flow, effectively use road infrastructure and assist road users in arriving more quickly at their destination? Three EU-funded research projects have addressed and analysed these issues from various points of view: CVIS (Cooperative Vehicle-Infrastructure Systems) and SAFESPOT, two projects PTV has been involved in, and Coopers (CO-Operative SystEms for Intelligent Road Safety).
ViaMichelin invest in state-of-the-art traffic data technology
PTV has always been able to process extremely large amounts of traffic data. In cooperation with ViaMichelin, the company will share its knowledge and expertise in the field of real-time data to allow the service provider to develop an even more reliable and powerful high-quality service covering the whole of France. Thanks to Floating Car Data technology, ViaMichelin can now provide its customers with additional and precise traffic information with wider and more granular coverage.
Transport planner with direct access to Teleroute's freight exchange
Easier, greener, more precise and more open this is how the new map&guide professional version can be described in a few words. The connection to Teleroute's freight exchange makes freight contracting a lot easier. The new version enables users to calculate routes, times, costs and emission values even more precisely.
PTV's board of directors now numbers five
PTV's board will be downsized from six to five members. This decision was taken by the supervisory board in March 2010. Dr. Joachim Schmidt will leave PTV's board of directors. As a member of the board, Vincent Kobesen will be responsible for the business field Logistics as of 1st April 2010.
