Senior Transport Modeller

The successful candidate would assume full responsibilities for update, testing, and maintenance of a VISUM model, and would be involved in organising, coordinating and conducting model updates based on traffic impact studies, design studies, master plan studies and any other land use or network updates deemed necessary by the client.

The applicant would be involved in travel demand modelling and the application of PTV Vision software platforms in various transportation planning and traffic engineering projects. Strong experience in master planning, infrastructure network planning and traffic impact studies are required.

The ideal candidate should be a driven transportation professional who has exceptional management, communication and interpersonal skills and who possesses broad experience in a variety of travel demand modeling applications conducted on PTV Vision software platforms. In addition, a successful candidate should have strong desire for innovation, creativity and building strong relationships with Client and local PTV staff.

Candidates with the following skills, experience and qualifications will be considered for this post:

• Degree in transportation engineering or planning (Master’s degree preferred);
• Minimum of 10 years of related transportation engineering experience, preferably in the Middle East environment;
• Advanced hands-on experience with PTV software (VISUM and VISSIM);
• Demonstrated experience in macroscopic tour based modelling (VISEM) for complex transportation engineering studies;
• Highway design experience is a definite asset, as well as experience and proficiency with AutoCAD, and/or Microstation;
• Knowledge of transportation planning principles, statistics, GIS, and good experience in data processing and analysis;
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and the ability to work with a leading team of transportation professionals;
• Proficiency in Arabic is an asset.
